Breast Enlargement

Breast Enlargement

Breast augmentation is a helpful procedure when a patient is dissatisfied with her breast due to size, shape or lack of symmetry. Thanks to the individual approach, as well as the use of implants of various sizes and shapes, there is a possibility of obtaining a natural and beautiful effect.

Bearing in mind that everyone has different aesthetic goals during the consultation will discuss their expectations and solve all doubts to ensure the best result of the operation. In order to achieve the best results of breast augmentation, various surgical techniques are used that are always tailored to the individual preferences and proportions of the patient. One of them is the “Dual-plane” method, thanks to which more natural shapes are achieved. It involves placing the implant partly under the breast gland and under the pectoralis muscle.

For whom?

Breast augmentation is a procedure that can be performed in healthy adult Patients

It is aimed at women who want to increase their size or change the shape of the breast. The procedure is suitable for patients who:

  • have too small breast relative to the rest of the body
  • they have asymmetrical breast, with different sizes and shapes
  • have low self-esteem due to the size of the bust
  • they avoid certain types of clothing due to small breast
  • lost breast volume after pregnancy or breastfeeding

Breast augmentation – before surgery

In the proper course of the whole procedure, it is very important to cooperate and talk with your doctor. His task is not only to perform the procedure, but also help and support the patient in making the best decisions. This stage guarantees satisfaction with the final effect and improvement of the Patient’s quality of life.

Pre-operative interview is an important element of the procedure. Each surgical procedure should be preceded by a detailed specification of the state of health, co-morbidities, previous surgical procedures, permanent medications, allergies, needs and aesthetic goals, as well as reasons for which the surgery is performed.

During initial consultations will be discussed:

  • reasons for making a decision about breast augmentation
  • the effect that the Patient wants to get after the procedure
  • medical history, to confirm the safety of the procedure

It is also time to dispel doubts, ask questions and provide comprehensive answers. Thanks to this, the patient can feel comfortable and confident, preparing for the procedure.

Types of implants

Implants are available in various sizes and shapes. Thanks to this, they can be adapted to the body shape of every woman. Their shape can be round or anatomical (in the shape of a tear) and the surface might be smooth or textured.

Different breast enlargement techniques

The next stage, planning the treatment, takes into account the individual requirements and proportions of the patient’s body. It is also the moment to choose the right surgical technique, tailored to your specific needs, and the choice of implants.

Placement of implants

There are three options for placing breast implants:

  • under the gland above the fascia and chest muscles
  • under the muscle fascia
  • partially under the pectoralis major muscle and the breast gland – by the dual-plane technique

The choice of the method is set by the doctor individually for each patient – depending on the type and size of the implant as well as the size and shape of the body. Thanks to this, the obtained effect is the most natural.

Incisions

Skin incisions are made to place the implant most commonly in the breast inframammary fold in but as well at the border of the nipple areola or under the armpit. They are done in the wrinkles of the skin, and are closed using thin sutures to minimize visible scars after the procedure.

What is the procedure for breast augmentation?

Breast augmentation is most often performed with general anesthesia. In some situations, local anesthesia with sedation is also taken into consideration. The doctor before the procedure discusses both options with the patient.

After anesthesia, an incision is made and the implant is placed in the right space, maintaining the most natural shape of the breast, and the wound closes with particular accuracy to minimize postoperative scars. In most cases the is no need to leave drains inside and the average time of surgery is around 90 minutes. The goal is to maintain the balance and symmetry of the upper body. Breast augmentation is a safe and effective procedure that allows the patient to achieve the desired results and enjoy them for many years.

Recovery

Recovery after breast enlargement depends largely on the location of the implants. Implants placed above the chest muscle cause a faster, more comfortable healing process, while implants placed under the muscle may require a slightly longer recovery. Discomfort and pain are relieved with oral analgesics.  Most patients return to full fitness and normal life in 1-2 weeks. More intense physical exercise is recommended after 4 weeks and till that time you will need to wear sport bra.
